Community Batteries Program

Power and Water has conditional funding to install community batteries as part of the national community battery roll out.

We want community members, ages 18 and over, from across Darwin, Palmerston and the rural area to take part in our community battery focus groups.

The Water Metering Code 2024 was published on 29 July 2024.

The Water Metering Code 2024 establishes the rights and obligations of customers and Power and Water Corporation (Power and Water) in relation to water metering in the Northern Territory.

The Water Metering Code (the Code) sets out how Power and Water will manage its owned customer water meters. The Code is a legislative requirement  set out in the Water Supply and Sewerage Services Act 2000 (WSSS Act) and is approved by the Utilities Commission.

This consultation period closed on Monday 13 May 2024.

Negotiated Embedded Generation Connection Technical Requirements Specification (greater than 30kVA, less than or equal to 2000 kVA) has been published.

It sets out the technical specifications required for negotiated embedded generation unit connections - such as rooftop solar, home batteries and inverters - to connect to the power network.

Our stakeholders, including installers and equipment manufacturers and suppliers,  were asked review the draft document, make comment and ask questions for us to consider and address.

This consultation period closed on 8 November 2023.

Basic Micro Embedded Generation Technical Requirements Specification - less than or equal to 30 kVA has been published.

It sets out the technical specifications required for basic embedded generation units, such as rooftop solar, home batteries and inverters, to connect to the power network.

The draft specification was presented for feedback from our stakeholders, including installers and equipment manufacturers and suppliers.

This consultation period closed on 31 March 2023.

Regulated electricity networks - Draft Plan - Questions for our stakeholders to prepare our 2024-29 regulatory proposal

This Draft Plan sets out our proposed plans for our upcoming 2024-29 regulatory period. Its purpose is to capture feedback from our customers and stakeholders on our plans before submitting our initial regulatory proposal to the Australian Electricity Regulator (AER).
