Power and Water crews working to restore power to Hermannsburg

Power and Water crews are working to restore power to Hermannsburg, a remote community 125 km southwest of Alice Springs.

Power supply was lost overnight due to a fault on the powerline between Alice Springs and Hermannsburg.

A generator has been installed to maintain water supply to the community until power is safely restored.

We are working with the community to reduce water use to help conserve the water supply.

The store and health clinic are open and fuel is available.

Crews are progressively working their way along the 120 km powerline to locate and repair the fault.

Further updates will be provided.
