Negotiated connections
As our customer you have the right to negotiate your connection contract. The technical information we need may be unfamiliar to you. We recommend an electrician, an electrical contractor or your retailer complete the application on your behalf.
This connection type is for:
- Network connections greater than 100Amps
- Embedded generation connections greater than 30kVA and less than 2MW
- Connection services outside the requirements of a basic connection
There are additional charges and timeframes associated with a negotiated connection service, depending on the type of connection required.

Before you apply
You will need to provide relevant technical details for the connection including:
- connection arrangement and requirements
- meter model for solar PV and energy storage connections
- information on any risks, hazards or other concerns that could impact the connection works
voltage rise calculation for solar PV and energy storage connections - details of the nominated retailer for the account.
Please note, incomplete or incorrect applications will result in a delay.
To check if your connection requires augmentation before submitting an application, please book a site visit with our Connections Team by emailing connection.pwc@powerwater.com.au.
How to apply
- Complete the online application form
- We will assess your application.
- We will provide a response with the option for you to request more information, or progress directly to an application to connect.
If you need more detailed technical information, we can put you in touch with our Development Connections team who will contact you within 5 business days.
After you apply

Incomplete or incorrect applications may result in delays.
The indicative timeframes and fees associated with large embedded generator connections can be found within the Embedded Generation Connection Guidelines PDF, 769.84 KB.
The timeframe for the connection work will be agreed upon by Power and Water and the customer through their agent depending on the nature of the project.
