Even when there is a Telstra outage the power meters will still work:
- The power will not switch off when you have no credit left.
- The screen will only show how much money you owe.
- The screen will not show the money you have paid.
But, when the Telstra network reconnects, the meters will add any money you have paid and will show a new amount owing.
On average remote customers use $10-15 of power every day.
Even when the power doesn’t switch off you should still top up to avoid a big debt.
To re-connect your power meter and look at your current balance:
Step 1: Go to the meter and push the ‘CONNECT’ button.
Step 2: Your meter will reconnect. If it doesn’t, wait 15 minutes and try again.
