The Pine Creek power distribution system is being upgraded.
Pine Creek Power Station Substation will be replaced by additional equipment installed at the Pine Creek Substation, approximately three kilometres from the power station substation.
The 66kV (Cosmo Howley feeder) and 22kV (Mary River feeder) powerline connections will also be reconfigured.
This project will provide extra flexibility and increase reliability and security to the power network.
UGL has been awarded the works contract.
Site set-up and civil works commenced in February 2019. On site working hours are 7.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 7.30am to 1pm Saturdays. No works will take place on Sundays.
Works are expected to be complete in mid 2021.
