Every year we reflect on our achievements and celebrate our teams’ expertise at an Annual Awards ceremony in Alice Springs and Darwin.

Culture Champion Award
Team recipient: Works Management Team from Core Operations – for their exceptional dedication and collaborative efforts in the development and implementation of a new operational work scheduling tool and dashboard to modernise works management across Power and Water.
Individual recipient: Rachael Garrigan from Customer, Strategy and Regulation – for her proactive approach to mentoring, building team engagement and her commitment to seeing others achieve their potential.
Customer and Community Champion Award
Team recipient: Laramba Water Treatment Plant Delivery Team from Water Services – for their outstanding achievement in delivering a new water treatment facility to improve drinking water quality outcomes for the Central Australian community of Laramba. Our water quality experts worked alongside Clean TeQ Water and government stakeholders to deliver the new treatment plant ahead of schedule and on budget.
Individual recipient: Trude Blizzard from Core Operations – for the success of our Indigenous Essential Services pre-payment meter rollout. Trude has been instrumental in our community engagement efforts to ensure our remote customers understand the change, and how to use and top up their new electricity smart meters.
Fabulous Fieldy Award
Ruben Brown from Power Services – for his exceptional leadership, consistently prioritising safety and fostering a positive work environment through coaching and constructive feedback.
Safety and Sustainability Star Award
Kathy Hake from Safety, People and Governance - for her unwavering commitment to people and exceptional leadership, particularly in managing health and wellbeing initiatives like R U OK? Day, where her efforts have had significant impact on the business.
Outstanding Innovator Award
Jake Saunders from Core Operations - for leading the development of a ground-breaking statistical methodology to quantify capacity firming requirements for intermittent renewable generators – a significant contribution to the energy regulation field. Jake was also recognised by the CIGRE C5 Study Committee for his expertise in a complex and evolving field.
Reconciliation, Diversity and Inclusion Award
Reconciliation Action Plan Launch Project Team – for their collaborative efforts and dedication to launch our 2023-2025 Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan, which culminated in two successful and memorable events in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) and Garamilla (Darwin). The emotional and welcoming atmosphere created during these ceremonies is a testament to their work.
Team of the Year Award
Emergency Management Flood Recovery Team – for their emergency response and recovery efforts following a significant flooding event impacting Kalkarindji, Daguragu, Yarralin, Pigeon Hole and Palumpa communities. The team worked around the clock to restore power, water and wastewater services so that residents could return home as soon as possible.
Employee of the Year Award
Southern Region: Sullim Sallik from Power Services – for his leadership and strong commitment to the team, taking on additional responsibilities and actively supported local Indigenous affairs in the Barkly Region, including managing the recent Tennant Creek Youth Justice Centre power connection.
Northern Region: Kelly McCann from Customer, Strategy and Regulation - for her outstanding dedication and leadership in delivering Power and Water’s 2024-2029 Initial Regulatory Proposal to the Australian Energy Regulator. The proposal is our plan for investment into the Darwin-Katherine, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs electricity networks to ensure we can continue to deliver secure and reliable electricity and meet the challenges an opportunities of a renewable energy future.
