Each year Power and Water supports a variety of community events and organisations through its Community Grants Program and applications are now open for 2025.

The grants support initiatives making a difference to the lives of Territorians, with grants available between $1,000 - $5,000 (excluding GST).

Power and Water awarded 10 community grants in 2024. The recipients were selected for their dedication to projects and initiatives that help shape the future of the Territory, care for and support Territorians, and uplift and create opportunities for Territorians.

Power and Water Deputy Chief Executive Officer, John Pease said the Community Grants Program is a way for the organisation to give back.

‘Our purpose is making a difference to the lives of Territorians,’ John said.

‘It is the driving force behind everything we do. Through the Community Grants Program, we support organisations that deliver initiatives with the same focus.’

Katie Thompson from the Bluearth Foundation’s Girls on Country Program in Alice Springs said their grant enables vital support to deliver culturally appropriate, on-country education on domestic violence for more than 60 Indigenous girls enrolled in the program.

‘This funding from Power and Water allows us to deepen our focus on fostering resilience, leadership and wellbeing, while addressing critical issues like domestic violence in a way that is both culturally safe and empowering,’ Ms Thompson said.
