Power and Water Corporation (PWC) through its Indigenous Essential Services (IES) subsidiary, manage the provision of essential utility services across remote communities of the Northern Territory. The day-to-day operations and maintenance of assets and systems are contracted out under Utilities Support Contracts (USCs) to USC suppliers with USC workers who are typically based in community.

The USC suppliers manage the delivery of scheduled tasks (daily, weekly and monthly) and as required duties and the USC workers are the first point of contact for fault identification and rectification on PWC assets and systems. This contract covers the Northern Region, which encompasses 43 communities and minor centres.
